It's C-C-COLD!!!!!!

Well, it's the start of another day, and I am unfit for human eyes. I was in bed by 11 last night, after my practice, but as I had mentioned, had to be up for 3AM. Managed to do that, with only a minimum of spatula use (you know....scrape yourself out of bed...?), and drove myself to the start of the first route.
Armed with 2 carrier bags filled with papers, and a huge armful, a list, and several layers of clothing, I set off. Last night brought blowing winds, snow, and slick roads, so the going was slow, slower with the pack mule look I was sporting....if I were to fall, I'd never make it back up again. For anyone who doesn't know....I HATE COLD WEATHER....and ice. I get cold and it takes forever to warm up, and ice, well, ice has it in for me. I just LOOK at ice, and it's got me flat on my face. In any case, I survived with little more than frozen face and really sore back.
On to the second one. This one I hated with a passion. The only thing worse than a cold, spread out route like the first one, is one that has 58 papers covering 26 apartment BUILDINGS, all with 3 or 4 floors, no elevator, and more often than not requiring ONE paper be delivered to the 4th floor....and nothing else. The good side is that it gives me a good old stairstepper workout. The bad part is that I get all hot and sweaty trudging up and down those stairs, then step out the door into the cold and wind just long enough to FREEZE said sweat, then into the next one, melt, sweat, out, freeze....you get the idea. It is now 6:56AM, and I sit here freezing cold, sore back, soggy with sweat, and exhausted. The upside is that my hair is all curly from all the sweat in my toque. It looks nice.
Now I just wait for the rest of the family to wake up before I start the rest of the day...I will relax until about 9, then clean for 4 hours, get my daughter off to school, cook meals, take daughter to Sparks, etc.....and not all in that order. Should be a fun day. Now I go off to rehydrate....shouldn't be too hard to get my 8 cups of water in today.

Getting started

I'm new at this, so we'll see how good I can get at this....becoming a copycat, doing what some of my friends are doing. :)
Today is 'one of those days"...not really a bad one, just one of those days when things don't quite run as smoothly as they could. I have a million things to do....and no real "oomph" to do them.
I was up, working a BINGO last night as a fundraiser for Prairie Gold, my chorus of Sweet Adelines International. Got home around 12:30AM, I guess, with issues in my pants (ladies, you know what I mean...yuck!), cramps in my lower regions, sore feet from standing/walking for 6 1/2 hours, and a cold. Had told my boss I was not able to work the next morning, which was a good thing...work requires me to be up at 4AM...I was finally woken up by my daughter at 10:30AM, hubby was away at work, my son was still asleep, kitties were hungry, and my daughter had to be on the school bus in 2 hours. So much for my nice, orderly plan to be up at 6 with hubby, leisurely breakfast, read my bible, etc, then start house cleaning at 9AM, doing around 30 minutes of cleaning in each room (cuz I'm a slob, and have trained my family in my image), finishing around 2PM, including lunch, getting daughter on the bus, etc. HA!
Try this instead: Jump out of bed, avoid kitties, wake up son. Make sure he gets to the potty in time. Grab bacon from the freezer, make eggs, toast, and bacon for brunch, give kids milk to drink while they wait. Daughter spills milk and wants to scramble the eggs. Egg on the floor and a few burnt bits in the scrambled eggs. Clean up after everybody eats, check e-mail. 200 messages. Slog through these, get daughter onto bus, son in room for "quiet time", back to computer. Check friends' blogs, respond to some, create my own. Here I sit. Now I will scan some stuff for a program we have signed up for, load and run the dishwasher, thaw a chicken for supper, probably release my son from his quiet time, collapse on the couch for Dr. Phil, daughter will come home, I will make supper, eat it, run out the door to pick up two items, go to Chorus until 10PM, come home and crash, then get up at 3:30AM because boss has had 2 people back out on him, and they need these routes covered by SOMEBODY, so tomorrow I have 2 unfamiliar (annoying) routes to do, all before 7AM. At least it will bring in some money...$32, I think. So now I don my supermommy cape and fly off into the sunset. Anybody wanting to send me chocolate is highly encouraged to do so....the darker the better. :)
